RT reports Reuters reporter, Anton Zverev, lied about missile hitting Malaysian airplane

An eyewitness account of a surface-to-air missile launched from the Ukraine’s rebel-held territory on the day Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was downed continues to be called into question. Now an RT.com interview claims that the witness never stated some of these details and that the Reuters’ reporter, Anton Zverev, fabricated facts.

The Lugansk region resident, whom Reuters cites as the source told RT the news agency gave a false report of his interview.

For its March report on the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 tragedy Reuters talked to Pyotr Fedotov, 58, writing that: “When interviewed by Reuters, Fedotov, the witness who described the ‘wiggling’ rocket, at first said on camera that it was fired from territory held by the Ukrainian army.”

Reuteres added that “Later, off camera, he said it was launched from a nearby rebel area. Asked why he had originally said the opposite, he said it was because he was afraid of the rebels.

The RT interview with Fedotov indicates a separation of the facts on camera and off.

“When we talked about the Boeing on camera, I explained everything as it was. The things that I allegedly said off-camera were just made up by the journalist. It’s all lies. Off-camera, we never discussed the Boeing,” Fedotov told RT.

Fedotov revealed that Zverev contacted him after the interview, but never showed him a draft of the article and asked whether Fedotov had got into trouble for speaking to him.

“The journalist called me and asked if I was in trouble. I was really surprised. Why would I be in trouble if I told the truth? And then my friends told me in the article I was saying different things when the cameras were on and off. That’s when I understood why he was asking if I was in trouble,” the man explained.

“So it’s mere fantasy from the journalist or maybe he was doing it for his own benefit,” he added.

RT claims to have asked Reuters for a copy of the raw footage from Fedotov’s interview to corroberate the details.

The Malaysian Boeing 777 airliner crashed on July 17, 2014 over the Ukraine and heightened the tensions between Russia and the Ukraine.

Early reports from the investigation (by the Netherlands) did not indicate a missile or object brought down the plane.

If you have been brainwashed by the Western Media, you will claim that RT is lying. If you are unaware that Ukraine, which is a suspect in the shooting, has the right to veto publication of the results of the investigation you will understand why no evidence to show the plane was destroyed by rebels or Russians has been forthcoming (if there were such evidence, it would be headlined) and why in fact nothing at all has been reported, despite many months of “investigation.” If there is evidence that Ukraine took the plane down, you will never hear it reported since Ukraine has that veto option. I have never heard of a potential suspect having the option to block publication of investigation results. Why else would they have that veto power if not to prevent their guilt from being published. Ukraine has the means and the motive and they have the power to hide their crime. Pictures of the cockpit show holes on both sides, indicating the plane was shot from both sides, something a Russian missile could not accomplish. Also, almost all the punctures are in the cockpit, again something a missile could not accomplish.

If there were evidence of a Russian or rebel operation, it would have been the top story in the news long ago. If there is evidence of Ukraine guilt, we will never hear about it.
To me, who has no dog in this fight, the silence of the investigation is a strong signal that they are unable to publish their results, which could only be the case if there was evidence that Ukraine shot the plane down.

This was most likely another false flag operation by the Ukraine military in an effort (there have been many) to bring in NATO/US forces, since they have had their asses kicked by the anti-Kiev forces. Ukraine is bankrupt, the military is demoralized, and things are only getting worse. The only way out is war, a common historical coverup of state failure. But Ukraine cannot win by themselves, even with neo-Nazi gangs and private armies, so they must find a way to sucker in the US to rescue them from defeat. The best way to do that is a false flag operation so heinous that the US cannot refuse to help them. I am sure the US is aware of this, but they are so compromised by having funded a violent overthrow of an elected government, appointing a central banker Prime Minister to rush thru the IMF deal, and being in bed with fascist forces who have control of the miitary that they cannot afford to start another US war and so are hoping that sanctions and propaganda will do the trick. They won’t.

The unholy alliance of corrupt oligarchs (Poroshenko was described by the State Dept in 2006 as a “corrupt oligarch”), Western banker stooges, and neo-Nazi thugs cannot survive without a war, and it cannot win a war on its own. Therefore, it is compelled to fabricate false flag operations, lies, and propaganda to induce the West to come to its aid. The West is now split and afraid to get mired down in the muck it has created. So things go from bad to worse and before long there will be another “revolution,” perhaps by the far right nationalists. Ukraine is fucked! Putin won’t bite at the bait, and the US is too compromised to act. What we have is a failed state created by a failed neo-con foreign policy.

I see we are still trying to rehash the same old dialogue hoping that somehow someone will believe that Russia down the plane. But if that was the case then where are the satellite images that the US claimed to have ? And why did the allied idiots decide to classify all of the evidence so that no one can see it ? The unfortunate thing that will come out of all of this is Ukraine will be raped and pillaged for all of it’s resources and wealth and the US will move on to do it all over again to the next country.

  3. Bob says:

Oh come on. You believe RT? I am sure the witness had a few discussions with the rebels when he changed his story again. He had to change it or meet the same fate that other Russians meet.

  4. Ian Hague says:

Other eyewitness reports say different. It makes no difference that the early statements by the Dutch commission did not specifically mention a missile. All they said is that the aircraft exploded into many pieces. Subsequent evidence proved that the plane was blown up by a missile and that the missile could only have come from rebel held territory. Furthermore, Russian troops operating in Ukraine would be the only people who could have launched such a weapon. All this has now been established beyond the doubts of deluded conspiracy-mangers like yourself.
