Robin Wright, Dave Bautista joins Harrison Ford for ‘Blade Runner’ sequel

House of Cards star Robin Wright is in final negotiations to join Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in the untitled sequel to Blade Runner. Guardians of the Galaxy and Spectre star Dave Bautista is also on board.

While there were no details on Wright’s role, fans will be excited to have a strong female of her caliber in the film as she would make a great Replicant.

Bautista himself officially announced on his Facebook page and on his official Twitter account, Bautista recently posted an artsy photo with a cryptic caption that simply reads: “I can’t wait to share some really exciting news…”

Denis Villeneuve is directing the Alcon Entertainment pic, whose story picks up several decades after the conclusion of Ridley Scott’s 1982 original. Hampton Fancher, co-writer of the original, and Michael Green of (Green Lantern) tackled the screenplay based on an idea by Fancher and Ridley Scott.

Filming is expected to start in July.

News from CinemaCon is that Sony unveiled a logo “which uses the classic Blade Runner logo, features the words ‘All of International’ at the bottom” – fans will take anything they can get at this point.

Blade Runner 2 will open the film January 12, 2018. UPDATED: The release date is October 6, 2017.
