Rob Kazinsky expected ‘backlash’ as Sookie’s new love interest for ‘True Blood’ season 6
Rob Kazinsky has admitted that he expected a “backlash” against his character on True Blood.
The former EastEnders star plays Ben, a new love interest for Sookie (Anna Paquin), in the HBO drama’s sixth season.
“I knew there would be a certain backlash from corners of the audience,” he told TV Guide. “The Bill, Eric and Alcide camps certainly wouldn’t appreciate having another love interest in town.”
Kazinsky joked that he wants to “upset those camps” and claimed that Ben could be a better match for Sookie than her other suitors.
“Ben is the first character that has been on this show as a love interest for her that is actually a good guy – that could actually be a life for her,” he explained.
“They’re both as lost and lonely as each other… so they’re more like kin than perhaps she’s found before.”
