Rebecca Hall talks ‘Iron Man 3’ and working with Robert Downey Jr
While promoting the new HBO series ‘Parade’s End’ with Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s ‘Sherlock’ and the villain in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness,’) Rebecca Hall talks about her role as scientist Maya Hansen in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black’s Iron Man sequel, which will see Tony Stark seeking revenge on the enemies who “destroyed his personal world”.
“I can’t even come close to matching wits with [Downey Jr], but it was fun to try,” Hall told MTV News. “He’s a really brilliant improvisationalist (sic), he’s incredibly quick-witted.”
The praise for Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark doesn’t stop there.
“Everything he brings to Tony Stark is him. Of course, there’s all of the tradition from the comic books, the movie, and also the writing is brilliant, but a heavy dose of that character is Robert Downey Jr. He’s inspiring to work with and watch. He’s a force.”
Hall has also praised Black’s approach as director, describing him as having “a really wonderful understanding of pulp”.
