Rand Paul to deliver keynote at ‘Lincoln Day Dinner’ in Iowa
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) will be presenting the keynote address at the Iowa Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner in Cedar Rapids on May 10, according to Iowa GOP Party Chairman A.J. Spiker Tuesday.
The announcement comes on the heels of the hugely popular Paul 13-hour drone filibuster, winning the 2013 CPAC Straw Poll and most recently, the Senator’s highly publicized immigration reform speech at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Earlier today, Dr. Paul discussed his 5-year balanced budget plan on Glenn Beck’s radio program, which highlights a 17% flat tax and the elimination of the departments of Education, Commerce and Energy.
The Hill reports that Paul is no stranger to Iowa as he spent plenty of time in Iowa in 2012 as a surrogate for his father’s presidential campaign, often speaking to reporters and potential supporters in his father’s place, as well as filling in for him at some speeches.
