Rand Paul: Dick Cheney wrong on foreign policy for last 30 years
Kentucky Senator and 2016 GOP Presidential candidate Rand Paul spoke on The Laura Ingraham Show discussing the hot topics in the news, beginning with Kim Davis, religious freedom and then transitioning to other topics.
“This should have always been a local issue,” Paul says, noting the Founding Fathers’ intent. “…I think states and localities will opt out of the marriage business.”
“There is an intolerance on the part of those who want to force her to sign this,” he concludes.
The polls are showing Paul sliding, but the Kentucky says crowds are growing, doubling and tripling.
“We lead Hillary Clinton in five states won by President Obama,” he proclaims, noting his appeal to younger voters and minorities.
Paul joked about speaking bad Spanish, relating some experiences during his recent time in Haiti and Guatemala.
Ingraham moves quickly through topics, discussing integration of immigrants, speaking in other languages (noting Jeb Bush’s approach), the role of assimilation, overcoming cultural hurdles and then turning the conversation to foreign policy.
“Dick Cheney has probably been wrong on every foreign policy decision over the last twenty or thirty years,” Paul says, citing Iraq, destabilizing the Middle East and the “notions that Dick Cheney and his friends have put forward that America should be involved everywhere all the time…”
“It’s everything I oppose,” he says, repeating the “Everywhere, all the time,” boots on the ground statement. He then calls for Saudis to lead the way in these campaigns.
Laura Ingraham asks about the rule changes, Carly Fiorina being in the next GOP debate and if Paul will be there.
“…the Republican beauty contest…” should be a factor, Paul says, claiming that he does better than Hillary Clinton, especially in Pennsylvania.
He goes on, elaborating on reaching Democrat voters, appealing to those in inner cities like Detroit – listen below.
Rand Paul has it right. He tells the truth and has all American’s best interest at heart. He’s the one to watch for knowing what’s going on in Washington.
