Radiohead stage collapses, kills drum tech Scott Johnson, injured 3 others
Radiohead has identified the person killed in the stage collapse at the Toronto show. The person’s name was Scott Johnson, who was a drum tech on Radiohead’s road crew. Radiohead drummer Philip Selway released a statement concerning the stage collapse.
Two other people sustained minor injuries, Toronto paramedics told the Canadian Press.
The stage collapse happened at around 4 pm today, while crew were setting up for a sold-out Radiohead gig at Downsview Park in Toronto.
Toronto Police Service Constable Harrison Ford told CNN that the weather was good at the time of the stage collapse.
No storm or significant winds were reported.
“All I can say is that a portion of the stage did collapse. We can confirm that one person is deceased,” said Toronto police officer Harrison Ford.

He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much.
