‘Prometheus’ photos released as cast denies ‘Alien’ prequel rumors, ties
From EW (h/t Dread Central), comes clear photos from Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Prometheus”
The photo clearly reveals the giant head, which Scott calls “the Ampule room.”
In this next photo we see the giant head again, Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Kate Dickie’s character (currently unnamed) inspecting one of the ampules, while David (Michael Fassbender) approaches the giant head.
In the smaller image we see Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) and Captain Janek (Idris Elba) on the bridge of the ‘Prometheus’
Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green), Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and David (Michael Fassbender), giving us a better look at their spacesuits and Fassbender.
The cast members still claim this is NOT an Alien prequel, when Reuters asked Fassbender about Prometheus, he replied:
“Right, but it’s not a prequel to ‘Alien’ like they’re saying. It has threads relating to that, but it’s a whole different world. It’s a slow-burner of a thriller, and we all had a blast doing it. It was an absolute joy working with Ridley. I kept pinching myself on set. And it’s great because if critics say, ‘Fassbender is very wooden in it,’ it won’t matter as I’m a robot.”
Charlize Theron, who features in this month’s edition of Vogue, also told them something along the same lines in a recent interview:
“I’ll tell you this, It’s not a prequel to Alien. Everyone thinks it’s a prequel, but it’s not. It’s a stand-alone movie.”
