‘Prometheus 2’ fake news proves that Google News has lost control

While researching the latest on a sequel to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, the two most recent stories listed by Google News are from a site in Oman and a Realty website.

Just as consumers get more freedom to track down news, Google has lost control of who can report on what: Realty Today is covering a science fiction film with information from late 2014.

Masterherald.com offers readers the “Middle East Pulse” while packaging outdated Prometheus updates as news.

It’s 2015 and companies are struggling to survive, especially get hits for their realty website or blog. Readers shouldn’t blame them for trying, but should be frustrated that Google can’t get their Internet service in order.

These sites, along with Crossmap, Moviepilot and others, are cranking out a weekly non-sensical article, packaged like news, to get your clicks.

Notice in the image at the bottom how these sites just repeat their posts, as often as weekly, to keep the content at the top of the Google News results, squeezing out the “good” content.

Prometheus 2 is still set to arrive in theaters on March 6, 2016, but expect an announcement delaying the film until 2017.

Dude, you wanna know why? I’ll give you an answer. You blame Google, but it is you, Mr. Butter Bracco, who is the true culprit! Why? It’s simple! You put the links to these sites from your influential site, and, thus, you push him to the first place for this query. Google just doing his job! So, until such guys like you will continue to put the links to these sites, you’ll continue to see the same picture every day!

I know that you will not publish this comment, but I also want that such people like you, dear Butter Bracco have learned what they do!

[…] Google News is jacked up and the proof may be found in Movie News? […]

  4. Drake says:

Spot on! The clickbait articles have taken over Google News. Searching for a release date for Android firmware yielded the same results for months.
