Project Veritas outs CNN as Fake News: John Bonifield admitting Russia story BS, Trump good for business, no real proof
While promoting their new video release, Project Veritas labeled CNN “American Pravda,” quoting CNN producer John Bonifield, who was caught on tape admitting how Trump has been “good for business” as the there is “no real proof” on the Russia scandal, but it’s a business.
“I haven’t seen any good enough evidence to show that the President committed a crime,” he said. “I just feel like they don’t really have it but they want to keep digging. And so I think the President is probably right to say, like, look you are witch hunting me. You have no smoking gun, you have no real proof.”
“I mean, it’s mostly bullshit right now,” Bonifield says. “Like, we don’t have any giant proof.”

He also said: “It’s a business, people are like the media has an ethical phssssss…All the nice cutesy little ethics that used to get talked about in journalism school you’re just like, that’s adorable. That’s adorable. This is a business.”
About CNN CEO, Jeff Zucker, the producer said: “Just to give you some context, President Trump pulled out of the climate accords and for a day and a half we covered the climate accords. And the CEO of CNN (Jeff Zucker) said in our internal meeting, he said good job everybody covering the climate accords, but we’re done with that, let’s get back to Russia.”
“To report not on facts, but instead on narratives that yield high ratings, is exactly the definition of fake news,” said James O’Keefe, Project Veritas founder. “We said we are going after the media, and there is a lot more to come.”
CNN said in a statement that it is standing by Bonifield. “Diversity of personal opinion is what makes CNN strong,” CNN said. “We welcome it and embrace it.”
O’Keefe told The Associated Press that Project Veritas got the video on Friday and that a portion, in an elevator, was recorded at CNN’s headquarters. He said that Project Veritas plans to release another video involving another CNN employee, with the timing dependent on how CNN reacts to the Bonifield material.
CNN late Monday accepted the resignations of journalists Thomas Frank, Eric Lichtblau and Lex Haris over last week’s web story about Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci’s pre-inaugural meeting with the head of a Russian investment fund. The network retracted the story on Friday and apologized to Scaramucci.
