Presidential candidate, Roseanne Barr tells Sean Hannity we need more socialism
Presidential hopeful and comedian, Roseanne Barr appeared on the Fox News show, Hannity last night to discuss her platform as the candidate of the Peace and Freedom Party with the conservative host.
Hannity, not sure how serious Barr would be, probed the candidate for her views. When asked if she should be taken serious, Barr responded, “Yes. I’m very, very serious. I say I’m the only serious comedian in the presidential race. And I’d like to take this opportunity to ask both Romney and Obama to debate me. Because I think that both of those guys — I think that the American people are being given a false choice, because the choice between the lesser of two evils is a false choice. It’s not an actual choice.”
When Hannity asked her if she was a socialist, she said “I do think we do need a little bit more socialism in this country this time.”
Barr, who is running as a antiwar candidate, told the Fox host she is not a pacifist and she would not disarm America. Instead she said, “I would just — I think that when war is wedge for profit we’re in trouble. I do think that that’s the corner our country has been back into.”
You know, with all these privatizing of prisons, privatizing of military, I don’t think that’s a good idea. I think most Americans agree with me, that the people themselves, you know, the taxpayers and the people of this — of this country, the citizens, we need to have our government back so that it’s not just a government of lobbyists and special interests.”
Rosanne Barr lost the Green Party nomination to Jill Stein in July. After her defeat, she announced she’d run on the Peace and Freedom Party ticket with VP candidate running mate and antiwar activist during the Bush years, Cindy Sheehan.
