PopSugar re-posts Catholic nun Joan Chittister’s disgusting attack on pro-lifers who don’t love ‘Big Government’

The Women’s March and pro-abortion groups have attached themselves to a 2004 statement from a Catholic nun who favors government intervention and taxation over individual charity in her assault on pro-life believes. Popsugar has always been liberal, but now joins the movement to the left with the new article.

During PBS’s Now With Bill Moyers in 2004, Sister Joan Chittister explained why being against abortion doesn’t mean you’re pro-life.

“I do not believe that just because you’re opposed to abortion that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don’t? Because you don’t want any tax money to go there. That’s not pro-life. That’s pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is.”

The post touts Chittister’s education and book writing career, before stating their reason for posting the quote: “there’s a difference between advocating for birth and advocating for that child’s entire life. If antiabortion proponents are truly “pro-life,” then those same legislators would not argue for defunding programs like those that provide school lunches or health care. Many who oppose abortion also oppose access to contraceptives. Antiabortion congressmen have consistently also advocated for defunding Planned Parenthood, which provides women with birth control options.”

COMMENTARY:

Federal government programs, Obamacare and tax payer money for Planned Parenthood HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING PRO-LIFE.

Critics are NOT calling for these things because they hate kids, they HATE big, giant, incompetent government. Moreover, defending Planned Parenthood in any way during a pro-life is just ignorant and insulting. They are truly an abortion factory.

Free lunch paid for by the tax payers doesn’t fulfill your call to free the hungry anymore than a call for the use of birth control.

The San Francisco liberals behind the post just exploited the nun’s remarks to bludgeon Christians and pro-lifers, attempting to label them hypocrites. The fact remains, government handouts ARE NOT charity and NOT Biblical.

A call to work, a call for free will and personal responsibility is a valuable tenet of the faith. All the remarks prove is that the nun was content being in service of the STATE, outsourcing her responsibilities to the government.

Liberals block the feeding of homeless, want to limit the charities due to their religious belief and want to force abortion, birth control, sterilization and other medical procedures which are contrary to Christianity.
