Police identify Pablo Colon as the killer in Florida murder suicide which left Sandra Colon, Olga Alvarez dead, 3-year-old injured
Police in Pemborke Pines identified the victims and the shooter in a shocking murder suicide which left three dead and a young girl injured.
Pembroke Pines Police officials identified Pablo Colon as the man who shot and killed his wife, Sandra Colon, age 36; his mother-in-law, Olga Alvarez, 61; and shot one of his 3-year-old twin daughters before turning the gun on himself in the 1600 block of Southwest 156th Avenue home about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Officers responded with a SWAT team to a 911 call from a female adult who was screaming in Spanish, (later identified as Olga Alvarez), but the call was cut off before police had received an address. Officers were able to determine the address using a cellular triangulation search and other investigative efforts.
“As police officers responded to the residence, 911 operators upgraded the call and provided information that a male subject murdered family members and intended to end his own life,” police said in a statement. “When police officers arrived, a rapid action team was immediately assembled and first responders entered the home. A preliminary investigation revealed multiple deceased victims, seemingly from gunshot wounds.”
“Once members of the Pembroke Pines Police Department made forced entry, four deceased victims were identified,” Pembroke Pines Capt. Adam Feiner said.
The 3-year-old injured in the shooting was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and released from the hospital on Monday and was with family members. She had a twin sister who wasn’t shot and appeared to be the only one not injured or killed at the home.

Pablo Colon Jr., 35, was the owner of a local electrical service business.
Records showed the couple had been married in May of this year.
The incident remains under investigation, and detectives are trying to determine a motive.
