‘Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales’ set to film in 2015, Puerto Rico
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow and the Pirates Of The Caribbean will indeed have another chapter after countless delays says producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Talking at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, Bruckheimer promoted several of his projects, but spoke directly about Disney’s big franchise, saying the production should begin in 2015. WTLV has the video.
We are hoping to start Pirates after the first of the year. We are getting closer and closer. We are close on the screenplay. We’re close with Disney, and with Johnny (Depp) who is enthused, so hopefully we’ll get it done. Bad Boys 3 is little further away. We’re just finishing an outline, and hopefully we’ll get a script in the next three or four months.
Depp, Geoffrey Rush, and Penelope Cruz are all set to return with Christoph Waltz cast to play the villain and Keith Richards returning as well. This is from Latino Post:
“Norwegian directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg told Deadline they will be shooting Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 – titled Dead Men Tell No Tales – in both Puerto Rico and New Orleans ‘at the end of the year,'” the British online publication said. “Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow. Geoffrey Rush is locked in as Barbosa and Keith Richards will reprise his role as Captain Teague.”
On the directing duo impressed the famous producer.
“So, you always go by their work. I had not met them, but I saw their movie. And I saw their movie Max Manus, which they did prior to that, which I thought was excellent too. They make movies very economically; yet, you’d never know it. They get a huge production value. They tell great stories, great characterization, they use excellent actors, and they’re great filmmakers. I’m sure you’ve sat and talked to them,” Bruckheimer told Dredd Central.
Iron Man 3 star was Rebecca Hall was also rumored for a role.
