Phillip Keene previews ‘Major Crimes’ season 5, Buzz taking on an ‘old cold case’

Actor Phillip Keene is back on Dispatch Radio, this time ahead of the fifth season of Major Crimes, the popular spin-off from The Closer. Phillip opened up about season 5, some of the upcoming themes and how his character has changed and will change.

“There’s interesting arc…as it relates to my character,” Phillip says, previewing more details around the Buzz storyline, which kicks off in the premiere. The studio revealed that “Buzz cracks open the decades old cold case file on the murder of his father and uncle,” beginning with the first episode back.

Phillip confirms that “He’ll be exploring that, getting help from his colleagues and I think that’s a really cool storyline…And that’s going to happen over the 13 episodes.

Season 5 kicks off on June 13 and Phillip speaks to how authentic some of the stories are, noting the comparisons to real life headlines and the work which made the show so engaging and realistic.

Keene reflects on the changes to Buzz, tips on acting, or rather, how to “stop acting” saying “to really be there in the moment, actively being listening” and how much his changed in his life.
