Paul Ryan remark proclaims 30 percent ‘want their welfare state’ VIDEO

In the wake of Mitt Romney’s “47%” comment,” a Paul Ryan soundbite portrays a similar message – some Americans “want the welfare state.”

Ryan was delivering the keynote address at The American Spectator’s 2011 Robert L. Bartley Gala Dinner, which the magazine posted online.

“Seventy percent of Americans want the American dream. They believe in the American idea. Only 30 percent want their welfare state,” Ryan said. “Before too long, we could become a society where the net majority of Americans are takers, not makers.”

Around 6:12 in the video, Ryan begins discussing the “Moral Tipping Point”
