Patricia Moran, Deborah Royal murders: Fourth suspect arrested
Two women are dead, and four suspects are in custody, after a violent robbery in Florida. The events began yesterday, but police report that the fourth and final suspect is in custody for the murder of Patricia Moran and Deborah Royal.
The four men arrested are Devon Mccune, Michael Gordon, Terrell Williams and Jovan Lamb. The events are detailed below.
Auburndale police and Polk County deputies got a report of four men robbing the Cash America pawn shop Thursday afternoon, just before 6 p.m. The suspects were described as four men, three of whom were armed.
The suspect vehicle, a GMC SUV, was later spotted heading eastbound along U.S. 17/U.S. 92 in Haines City. Haines City police pursued the vehicle, and the suspects allegedly opened fire on the officer, who was not hit.
The suspects’ car crashed in the Chanler Ridge subdivision and the four men fled on foot, but one was caught by a sheriff’s canine team.
A second suspect, with gunshot wounds and canine bites, was caught while the other two suspects remained at large.
A mother, Moran, age 71, and her adult daughter, Royal, 51, were found inside the house. Polk Sheriff Grady Judd says they had been brutally murdered.
Judd said they were “viciously murdered” in a manner “much too graphic to describe.”
This morning officials announced the capture of the third, then fourth suspect. The last suspect, who was captured without incident, was allegedly found in a shed in the neighborhood.
Only one suspect will be charged with murder, the Sheriff’s Office said.
