Pat Robertson targets ‘Young Earth’ Christians as ‘deaf, dumb and blind’
Televangelist Pat Robertson made it clear he disagrees with young earth creationists, going beyond disagreement and into insult. Robertson used some hard words for who don’t prescribe to the notion that the earth is billions and billions of years old.
“The truth is, you have to be deaf, dumb and blind to think that this Earth that we live in only has 6,000 years of existence, it just doesn’t, I’m sorry,” he said on Tuesday’s 700 Club.
Robertson went on to cite geological records, claiming that everything on the planet couldn’t possibly have come about in such a short span of time.
“I think what we’re looking at is that there was a point of time after the Earth was created, after these things were done, after the universe was formed, after the asteroid hit the Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs,” Robertson continued. “After that, there was a point of time that there was a particular human being that God touched — and that was the human that started the race that we are now part of.”
He said that denying the “clear record” makes Christians look silly.
