OSU mumps outbreak hits 40

The number of mumps cases at the Ohio State University has hit 40, with three new cases reported today by Columbus Public Health.

The three new cases are reported in two OSU students and one staff member.

An email to The Global Dispatch from Columbus Public Health communications director, Jose Rodriguez shows that 55 percent of those infected are male.

Three people required hospitalization for their illness since the outbreak began.
