Oregon protester Mateen Abdul Shaheed identified and wanted for felony vandalism
A 20-year-old Oregon man has been identified by police is wanted for destroying property during Thursday night’s anti-Trump riot in Portland, police said.
Mateen Abdul Shaheed has a felony warrant out for his arrest in connection with the vandalism, according to Portland Police Bureau and Crime Stoppers of Oregon.
Rioters broke the windows of businesses in the Pearl District, smashed car windows and dented cars at a Northeast Portland car dealership and committed other acts of vandalism.
Police Chief Mike Marshman estimated the riot resulted in more than $1 million in damage.

Anonymous tips reportedly helped investigators identify Shaheed from videos and photos taken at the protest. Detectives executed a search warrant at his home on Monday but he was not there.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that helps solve the case.
Anyone with information on Shaheed’s whereabouts can submit an anonymous tip by texting CRIMES (274637) and typing 823HELP followed by the tip.
