Ohio: Damon Joseph arrested for ISIS terrorist plot to attack Toledo synagogue, murder rabbi

The man claims allegiance to Islamic State as details emerge surrounding the ISIS plot to attack a synagogue in Toledo with Damon Joseph arrested.

Damon Joseph

Joseph, 21, of Holland, Ohio, was arrested on Friday by members of the Joint Terrorism Task after planning to commit a terrorist attack on a Toledo, Ohio, synagogue and slay a rabbi and potentially others with AR-15 style rifles, authorities said.

“He selected firearms, firearms that he handpicked because he believed that they would deliver the maximum amount of damage and destruction,” United States Attorney Justin Herdman said.

If convicted, Joseph could face up to 20 years in prison for attempting to provide material support to ISIS.

“It’s not just one threat. It’s across the spectrum,” Herdman told CNN in an interview on Monday following the multiple arrests made the agency. “It’s not just Islamic or anarchist or animal rights terrorism. It’s everything.”

Joseph would routinely talk online with undercover agents who he thought were members of ISIS, the records show.

The conversations ranged from details about his propaganda videos to his beliefs, and he admitted he struggled with the idea of killing but was not afraid to go to prison, since he would be able to recruit fellow inmates.

Then in September, the agents asked Joseph if he hated people in America. “Oh yeah, definitely,” answered Joseph, according to court records. “The gays, the Christians, the Catholics, the Jews, you name it.”

Joseph allegedly uploaded other images of himself sporting a ring with an Arabic screed found on the ISIS flag that translated to “Allah, messenger, Muhammad.”

And he also allegedly took selfies; one featuring him donning a private security officer’s uniform, and another of him making a “tawheed” or hand gesture “used by ISIS to affirm the Oneness of Allah.”

The purported convert to Islam confided in an undercover FBI employee about taking his “allegiance” to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the ISIS leader, and freely admitted he didn’t have much love for infidels.

Undercover agents later met Joseph in person and were given a shopping list of weapons and ammunition, items he needed to mimic the October Tree of Life shooting, where 11 people were killed, Herdman said.

Joseph told an undercover agent that he “admire[d] what the guy did with the shooting,” federal officials said.

“I can see myself carrying out this type of operation inshallah,” Joseph said, according to officials. “They wouldn’t even expect in my area.”
On his list was an assault rifle, semi-automatic pistol, at least two magazines and ammunition, according to the indictment.

Imagine if that animal’s family was totally destroyed.

Would he dare attack Jews knowing the consequences? And that should be the mantra of the Jews to totally destroy their enemies befoe they kill Jews.
