NY Times reports Gosnell guilty on ‘late-term procedures’ using the term ‘fetus’ instead of baby
Kermit Gosnell, the abortion doctor in Philadelphia, accused of murdering seven babies born alive after botched abortions and one woman was found guilty today. The NY Times shocked pro-life supporters by not mentioning “babies” or abortion in the description of the case.
The headline to the article proclaimed Gosnell was guilty of “late-term procedures” but may not completely described the birth of the children, that they were killed after being born alive or convey the horrors described by the staff during testimony.
Furthermore, the article refers to the infants as “fetuses” six times in the paper’s report on the conviction and the word “baby” only once on the first page of the Internet article (other than listing the court terms Baby A, Baby C….)
The Times article begins with issues discussion, opinions on abortion and pushed the gruesome details (or waterdowned version) for the second page of the Internet coverage.
“Several weeks into the trial, which began March 18, anti-abortion activists and some conservative commentators accused the national news media of skipping it, a charge amplified across social media,” the article admits.
Sadly, the Times seemed to further provoke pro-lifers with alleged “bias” coverage, even after the verdict.
