North Korea Diary: Update on new animals at Central Zoo includes dalmatians and guinea pigs
Last week, North Korea Diary reported that the Central Zoo in Pyongyang had acquired some Yorkies to feature at the country’s premiere zoo.
Now in an update from the Korean Central News Agency we find that the zoo has procured several new species to display.
“Recently, more than 50 pet dogs of 21 species and over 400 parrots and guinea pigs of 30 species were sent to the zoo. Among those pet dogs are Dalmatians, Irish setters, bearded collies and schnauzer.
“The parrots include Red and Green Macaw, Blue and Yellow Macaw and Red Crested Cockatoo.”
The state news service says “The Central Zoo plays a big role in improving the cultural and emotional life of people and giving them comprehensive knowledge of animals.”
