North Carolina police search for Travis Jeffers after cocaine bust leads to arrest of Vanessa Johnson, Kendrick Johnson
Three people face charges in connection with a cocaine investigation in Burlington, North Carolina as Vanessa Johnson and Kendrick Johnson have been arrested and police are still seeking another man: Travis Jeffers.
Burlington police said the investigation began after a confidential source alleged drugs were being sold at both homes. This led to the immediate arrest of Vanessa, age 62, and her son Kendrick, 33, as the police search uncovered quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana, as well as a total of $25,000 in cash and a stolen dirt bike.
Police have acquired a warrant for Jeffers, 27, who now faces charges of felony possession of cocaine and possession of stolen property. Vanessa Johnson’s charges include possession with the intent to sell cocaine and trafficking of schedule II opiates. She was held under a $100,000 bond in the Alamance County Jail.
Kendrick Johnson’s charges include felony assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting, obstructing or delaying an investigation. He was held under a $5,000 secured bond.
A woman who lives at one of the houses was not implicated, ANET said.
