Nigeria: Bishop Clement Ekpeye released from captivity after being kidnapped five days earlier

(International Christian Concern) –Clement Ekpeye, the Nigerian Bishop of Ahoada, was released from captivity after being kidnapped five days earlier. Details of his abduction remain scarce.

However, according to local reporting, the kidnappers gained access to the Bishop’s house by using a ladder. They went into the kitchen and headed towards the cook. When she began shouting, the Bishop left his parlor and entered the kitchen. At this point, they abandoned the cook and forced the Bishop into his own car. The car was returned to the residence that evening.

No details have emerged on whether the Bishop was released because of a paid ransom (no demands were made) or because of some other reason.
