Nicolette Beard, Texas woman, arrested for paying an undercover cop to have her child’s father killed
A Texas woman was arrested by the police for paying an undercover cop to kill the father of her 7-year-old son. She thought that the cop was a hit man, reports KBTX.
Nicolette Beard, 33, was arrested in College Station after she paid the police officer a sum of $4,000 to kill 30-year-old Anthony Drymalla III. The motive behind the plot was an upcoming custody battle between the parents, police says.
The College Station police came to know of the plans from one of her friends, who told officials that Beard was looking for a hit man to kill the father of her son.
“We got the gentleman with an undercover investigator to meet with her and see if she was, is planning on going through with it,” said Lt. Lesley Hicks of the College Station Police Department.
The confidential informant took Beard’s son to the supermarket, while Beard talked to the undercover cop in the car and discussed murder.
“She wanted to get some money from an ATM, but it didn’t work so she said she had cash at home. So they drove back to her house where she got $800 and a driver’s license with the target’s picture on it,” said Hicks.
After the payment was made, Nicholas Beard was arrested by the police who followed the car for soliciting capital murder. She remains in the Brazos County Jail on a $100,000 bond as well as a 24-hour hold if she is able to post bond.
