Nicholas Sparks previews ‘The Choice,’ working with Ben Walker, Teresa Palmer and ‘See Me’
The Choice is the latest in a long string of romance films adapted from Nicholas Sparks novels. This time Sparks takes on the role of producer to bring his pages to life and spoke with Dispatch Radio about the project, the cast and his previous book.

This new film will be the first Nicholas Sparks Production and Sparks talks about that processing, filming close to home and casting. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter star Benjamin Walker follows In the Heart of Sea with a starring role in The Choice and Sparks talked about the multi-talented actor, impressed by his humor and skills. Joining Walker is Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and Sparks talks about their instant chemistry.
The Notebook remains Sparks’ biggest success, with a film earning over $80 million at the US box office, slightly ahead of Dear John. With 2015’s The Longest Ride, the Sparks’ franchise of films have grossed over $555 million in the US.
The Choice was Sparks’ 2007 hit novel and the writer shifted gears during the interview to talk about his most recent book, See Me, his writing process and what’s ahead.
Sparks, a devout Catholic, addressed that he strives to pen novels that both his daughter and grandmother could read and he’d not be embarrassed.
