New TV spots for ‘Thor The Dark World’ highlighting the Loki and Thor partnership
Thor: The Dark World has released a pair of new TV spots online, in which Thor and Loki are forced to set aside their differences and partner to defeat Christopher Eccleston’s Malekith, and his army of Dark Elves.
The new spots contain a few brief shots of new footage, particularly the latter of the two, which places a focus upon the dynamic between Thor and Loki.
Bickering and sniping at one another appears to be the theme between the pair and relationship.
Dark World will be directed by Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor with some Joss Whedon re-writes.
“Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times,” says Taylor. “We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something.
“He came down, rewrote the scene, and before he got back to his plane I sort of grabbed him and said, ‘And this scene and this scene?’ And he rewrote two other scenes that I thought had problems
“Then finally we let go of him, he took off again, and we shot the scenes; and they were just much better and much lighter on their feet.
Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins and Rene Russo all return for the sequel with Eccleston playing the villain, Malekith.
Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters on November 8, 2013.
