New SDCC ‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 poster, promo sets Headless Horseman War
The Headless Horseman is featured greatly in a new Sleepy Hollow promo released by Fox and a new poster set for this month’s San Diego Comic Con. Heading into the second season, Sleepy Hollow will now venture into all out supernatural warfare.
A teaser and a new poster set up SDCC to be the place for fans to learn more about the second season of “Sleepy Hollow”
Sleepy Hollow executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Len Wiseman, Mark Goffman and Heather Kadin return to Comic-Con with an exclusive look at the highly anticipated second season, followed by a fan Q&A, featuring cast members Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, John Noble, Orlando Jones, Lyndie Greenwood and Katia Winter.
The Horseman is seen riding with a flaming sword with the bold statement “War Is Coming,” setting up more conflict with Mison’s Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills played by Beharie.
Season one ended with a cliffhanger, every one of the heroes were in danger, and the clip is the first hint of what the new season holds for the duo plus Crane’s wife, Katrina.
From the new clip, Ichabod and Abbie have both been freed from their prisons — a pine box coffin and purgatory, respectively — to resume their fight against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse while attempting to save Katrina from the clutches of the Headless Horseman.
“They’ve been planning this since before the birth of our nation,” Ichabod says in the teaser, as new footage from the season is shown.
“This is war,” Abbie adds.
Neil Jackson is confirmed back as Abraham which Mison says is key to the new season. Fans should expect there to be “more flashbacks, exploring the core of the characters and expanding the world of Sleepy Hollow. There will be new characters coming in exposing new problems.”
Sakina Jaffrey (House of Cards) and One Tree Hill alum Matt Barr have joined the cast as well. Jeffrey will play Leena Reyes, a former U.S. Border Patrol officer in Texas who returns to Sleepy Hollow as the new Sheriff.
Barr will portray Nick Hawley, a “ruggedly handsome bounty hunter.”
Barr will be “The adventurous, archetypal loner, who has a rough and tumble demeanor, assists Abbie and Ichabod with a supernatural case. His casting was first reported by TVLine.com.” says Metro West Daily News.
Sleepy Hollow returns to Fox on September 22.
