New Poll: Donald Trump leads New Hampshire as Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio close in nationally
The GOP race is still complicated in the wake of the Iowa caucus as Donald Trump is still polling with a strong lead in New Hampshire as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio closes in nationally. According to the PPP poll, Trump’s “surprise” loss in Iowa on Monday night has resulted in his lead falling to just 4 points – now at 25% to 21% each for Cruz and Rubio.
“Donald Trump’s really seen some cratering in his support this week,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “A key part of his message has always been that he’s a winner and now that he’s lost something Republicans- and especially conservatives- aren’t finding him as compelling as they did a few weeks ago.”
Next in the poll is Ben Carson, 5% each for Jeb Bush, John Kasich, and the now departed Rand Paul, 3% each for Chris Christie and Carly Fiorina, and 1% for Jim Gilmore. Rick Santorum had literally zero supporters on our final poll including him.
Trump has polled well in the moderate New Hampshire and two new polls indicate that is still the case as the other candidates see rises and collapses. Trump leads at 34% over Rubio at 14%, Kasich 13% and Cruz at 12%. Bush followed at 8%, Christie at 6% with Carson and Fiorina slumping to 2%. The ARG poll has undecided at 7% – read the full details HERE
The UML has Trump at 36%, Rubio 15%, Cruz 14%, Kasich 7, Bush 8, Christie 5, Fiorina 3 and Carson 4.
