New ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film to film in early 2015, Orlando Bloom set to return

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales may be back in production soon and have an old character back for the new adventure – Orlando Bloom.

Various reports confirm that  Australia’s government has agreed to provide some $20.2 million of financial incentives in order to attract the Disney film to their country. The agreement was announced by federal arts minister George Brandis.

“The government is pleased to agree to Disney’s request to enable earlier funding to be repurposed for the production of Pirates of the Caribbean 5,” said Brandis in a statement. “Any decision to film productions in Australia is a commercial matter for Disney.”

Production would be expected to begin in early 2015, for a release of the completed picture in 2017.

Meanwhile, Bloom remarked about returning to the franchise as Will Turner.

“There have certainly been some discussions about it and I’m open to it,’ he said during a discussion panel at Oz Comic Con.  “That whole experience working with Johnny (Depp) and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me.”

Bloom said he was tempted by the opportunity to again work with his friend and fellow actor Depp, who nominated plays the iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow. “I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity (to be in the first Pirates) was because Johnny was involved.”

Depp, Geoffrey Rush, and Penelope Cruz are all set to return with Christoph Waltz cast to play the villain and Keith Richards returning as well. This is from Latino Post:

“Norwegian directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg told Deadline they will be shooting Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 – titled Dead Men Tell No Tales – in both Puerto Rico and New Orleans…”

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales arrives in theaters July 7, 2017.
