New ‘Men in Black’ film set to film in June, Chris Hemsorth rumored to lead new cast
Sony’s new Men in Black project will serve as a reboot to the series, possibly serving as a spin-off reinvention similar to last year’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Now news comes that the shoot will start this June.
According to Omega Underground the film will officially start shooting on June 18th in London, with the hopes to still make the film’s June 14th 2019 release date.
Movie Web reported that Thor: Ragnarok star Chris Hemsworth is being eyed by Sony to lead this upcoming Men in Black spin-off.
According to Deadline, Hemsworth is “circling the project” which will be directed by Fast and Furious 8 helmer F. Gary Gray. Iron Man writers Matt Holloway and Art Marcum have drafted the script
They explained: “While his deal hasn’t been finalized as of this writing (as far as we know), it looks like he’s going to be one of the new faces of the franchise now. It’s said that he’ll be starring with another female MIB agent of color, along with an older man. This isn’t going to be a full-on reboot either. This movie will take place in the same universe as the Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones trilogy, but will focus on new characters and expand the universe. Similar to what Jurassic World did for the Jurassic Park franchise.”
Men in Black 4 will arrives in theaters on June 14, 2019.
