New Matt Damon ‘Bourne’ film adds Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles will return
The cast of the new Bourne film got some news as Julia Stiles will reportedly return for another round action along with Matt Damon (the original Jason Bourne) and director Paul Greengrass.
Additionally, Deadline reports that Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is joining the franchise. The Swedish actress (Ex-Machina, Testament of Youth) has signed on for a role in theUniversal Pictures film and officially dropped a potential part in Assassin’s Creed due to scheduling conflicts.
“Vikander’s star should continue to rise, as she has Warner Bros’ The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl for Working Title, the Weinstein Co’s Tulip Fever, John Wells’ Adam Jones with Bradley Cooper and Jamie Dornan and Derek Cianfrance’s The Light Between Oceans opposite Michael Fassbender all wrapped and in the pipelines,” writes Deadline.
Stiles will be reprising her role as CIA operative Nicolette, who broke the rules to help the rogue agent – Jason Bourne.
Jeremy Renner starred in the last Bourne film, The Bourne Legacy, which grossed more than $270 million worldwide, but this was viewed a major failure after The Bourne Ultimatum earned over $440 million globally.
The untitled Bourne sequel is due to arrive in theaters next summer on July 2016.
