New Jersey man, Pankaj Bhasin, charged with murder Bradford Jackson, an Alexandria man found dead Friday
A New Jersey man is charged with murder after a body was found in an Alexandria business Friday morning.
Bradford Jackson, 65, of Alexandria, was found dead in a business in the 1200 block of King Street just before noon on Friday. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, and police called the death “suspicious.”
Police initially received a call about a suspicious man who got into a Mercedes vehicle parked on King Street — man described as Hispanic, naked and bleeding from his arm and hand.
Now police have confirmed that Pankaj Bhasin, of New Jersey, had been charged with murder in the case.
Bhasin, 34, is being held without bond at the Alexandria Detention Center.
FOX Noted this about the case:
The homicide may be connected to the delivery of a package outside of the business. Alexandria police were seen examining and taking away a package that had been sitting on the sidewalk all afternoon. The owner of the Japanese restaurant located below Window Universe believes there was some kind of struggle over the package.
“Somebody tried to steal the package. That’s what I heard,” said Yuh Shimonoua, the owner of Nasime Japanese Restaurant. “I don’t really know the detail about it … They keep my package. I don’t know which one. I order similar item so I don’t know which item.”
Police assured Alexandria residents that there was no public threat following the discovery of the body.
Alexandria Police say the investigation is ongoing.
