New Hampshire man, Zachary Bishop, arrested for filming underage girls in Target changing room
While the incident wasn’t in the bathroom, Target is again under attack over an incident in the wake of their disregard for women’s privacy as a New Hampshire man was arrested and charged with violation of privacy after he allegedly recorded underage girls in a Target changing room.
Zachary Bishop, 22, of Raymond, New Hampshire, fled the Target store before the police arrived but subsequently turned himself in after police issued a warrant for his arrest. Bishop was recording juvenile females who were changing clothes in the dressing room.
A subsequent investigation by Bedford Police Department, along with the assistance of Target Loss Prevention Officers, quickly identified Bishop and the warrant was issued.
The arrest comes amid fears that the transgender bathroom policies sweeping the nation, like that adopted at Target, provide easier access for predators. Bishop would not be the first person to take advantage of the broad-reaching policies.
Since rolling out its new policy, Target’s stock has plummeted. The company’s CEO has defended the rule allowing men in women’s restrooms as “inclusive,” despite more than 1 million people signing an American Family Association (AFA) petition to boycott Target and pushback from shareholders.
Bishop was charged with Violation of Privacy.
Expect the Flush Target movement to continue as the group says “We must convince Target that its in the best interest of their company, their shareholders, their customers and the communities they serve to rescind its uni-sex bathroom policy.
The Target stock price has rebounded somewhat, up to $70.05 per share on Friday, still way below the nearly $84 back in April, but rising from the $66-67 range of recent weeks.
