New ‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 trailer: Mary dressed in black
The elegance of Downton Abbey will be splattered with black as costume designer Caroline McCall has concentrated on Michelle Dockery’s mourning Lady Mary.
Downton Abbey will be headed into its fourth season, following the surprising death of Matthew in last year’s Christmas episode, a dark cloud has hung over Downton.
Season four is picking up six months after the tragedy and the lives of the Crawleys and their downstairs servants must continue.
Things are set to get racier, figuratively with the music and themes, and literally by introducing a black character.
Hyperable writes “It was interesting to see Lady Mary (played by Michelle Dockery) struggling to move on from Matthew, but words of wisdom from various members of the estate – primarily Violet and Carson – helped her come out of the rut.”
Executive Producer Gareth Neame says: “Downton Abbey has seen many great characters visit the house over the years and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome the new faces that will be joining the regular cast of Downton Abbey in Season 4. We hope audiences will be as excited about them as we are.”
