New ‘Digimon Adventure’ trilogy begins February 1 with ‘DIGIMON ADVENTURE tri.: Loss’

In 2016, “DIGIMON ADVENTURE tri.: Reunion” the first English-dubbed Digimon feature to be released in the U.S. in 16 years, made its U.S. premiere in cinemas nationwide to rave reviews. In 2018, Fathom Events and Toei Animation Inc. will partner again to bring exciting new Digimon titles to U.S. big screens, beginning with “DIGIMON ADVENTURE tri.: Loss on Thursday, February 1.

After the “reboot” and Meicoomon’s rampage, Tai and friends arrive in the Digital World. They reunite with their partner Digimon, who have lost all their memories. As everyone discusses what they should do from within the Digital World, Meicoomon suddenly appears and then disappears. She still has her memories for some reason. Meanwhile in the Real World, Nishijima receives word that Himekawa has gone missing. As he investigates, he determines that there’s been some hidden agenda behind her behavior that has to do with a past event that determined both their destinies.

These special events will also feature interviews with cast and crew talent such as the English voice of “Tai,” Joshua Seth for “DIGIMON ADVENTURE tri.: Loss”

Tickets for DIGIMON Adventure tri.: Loss can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

The three features:

These three features follow main character Tai, who, several years after his last adventures, was leading a peaceful life in high school. But then one day, Digimon suddenly appeared in the Real World and keep on arbitrarily attacking. This story depicts the DigiDestined later on as the adventure evolves once again.

The Digimon who appear through the distortions were waiting for this time to come. The DigiDestined are cast out of the Digital World when it goes out of order, and after returning to the Real World, are driven away by people on account of their accompanying partner Digimon.
