New details on Andy Serkis role in ‘Avengers Age of Ultron’ and ‘Black Panther’
Fans were excited and surprised by the appearance of Andy Serkis, revealed in the first Avengers: Age Of Ultron trailer and now the role played by Serkis has been unearthed. The villain Ulysses Klaw will be in the Avengers sequel.
According to the folks at schmoesknow.com, the Black Panther villain will be a “slight variant of the villain from the comics world, apparently a blending of Ulysses Klaw and his father, Colonel Fritz Klaue, the crazed Nazi who battled Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos. ”
Fans will be working to determine Klaw’s villainous motivations in Wakanda as a built up toward the Black Panther solo feature in 2017 starring Chadwick Boseman.
In Fantastic Four #53 from 1966, the story of Klaw’s greed and attempt to take over Wakanda was told, exposing him as the one responsible for the shooting death of Black Panther’s father and ruler of Wakanda, T’Chaka.
Serkis’ animalistic acting resume (Gollum in the LOTR, Hobbit, and Caesar in the new Apes films) will be exciting to see when his Klaw is unleashed against the Avengers.
Director Joss Whedon returns with stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) with Paul Bettany (Vision), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Andy Serkis and James Spader (Ultron).
Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters May 1, 2015.
