‘Luke Cage’ Mike Colter kicks off MegaCon Orlando 2019: talks Reg E Cathie, new show ‘Evil’

The kickoff of the southeast’s largest convention has fans excited when Luke Cage star Mike Colter was announced earlier this year as part of this year’s lineup for MegaCon Orlando.

Colter portrayed the Marvel character in ‘Luke Cage’ on the two solo seasons on the Netflix’s ‘Defenders’.

When asked about he most influential people who worked with, Mike shared, “Reg E. Cathie, who played my father, and Ron Cephas Jones (Bobby Fisher). We would sit in the barber shop and bounce ideas off of him.”

When asked more about Reg E. Cathie, who passed away in 2018 during the filming of season 2, Colter shared “We connected very well. He was ill through a lot of the shooting. We found out he had cancer about the third episode in and he was pushing through it, definitely a trooper.”

Of course there were several questions about his hopes about returning to the role of Luke Cage now that Netflix is no longer airing the Marvel shows but not even Mike has knowledge of any promises that it will be picked up by another network.

Mike promoted his upcoming show ‘Evil’, premiering on CBS. “I’m a priest in training, on the path of becoming a priest.” Mike shared, “I have a partner, Kahja Herbers, she’s a psychologist, who believes in science and we are exploring these unnatural phenomenon such as possession, things we can’t control, hope it goes well.”
