Netflix confirms ‘Luke Cage’ season 2 has been approved

Some critics attacked Netflix’s Luke Cage as droning on and having too many episodes. That said, the show expanded the universe, at time not feeling connected to Jessica Jones or Daredevil except for the appearance of Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple.

Now Netflix dropped the news of Luke Cage‘s renewal, prompting the die-hard fans to yelp “Sweet Christmas!”

The renewal was inevitable, Netflix and Marvel are banking on this partnership for the long-haul, but by the time Luke Cage Season 2 rolls around fans will have enjoyed the new Iron Fist series, the team being formed with The Defenders and likely a new season of Jessica Jones, Daredevil and a solo Punisher season.

Mike Colter’s Luke Cage is in a relationship with Jessica Jones and becomes close friends with Danny Rand aka Iron Fist — so expect much, much more from Luke Cage.

iNetflix has plenty of time to let these stories play out, but viewer patience is finite.

Stay tuned for news on Luke Cage Season 2.
