Nancy Pelosi says investigating Planned Parenthood is ‘unAmerican’ and evokes Joseph McCarthy
Democrats are working hard in the House of Representatives to end all efforts of investigating Planned Parenthood, the possibility of selling fetal body parts from aborted babies and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California is leading the protest, even calling the investigation “unAmerican.”
Democrats released a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and hend a press conference. “What’s going on in the Congress today is, to borrow a phrase, unAmerican,” said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) on Friday, adding that the committee is acting in ways “not seen on Capitol Hill since the days of Joseph McCarthy.”
Democrats said that one person deposed by the committee, whom they did not identify, wrote letters to Ryan and Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) objecting to be called.
“Those requests have been refused or met with deafening silence,” the Democrats wrote to Ryan. “Facing the threat of contempt, that person appeared before the Panel last week. During eight hours of questioning, she was asked to ‘name names’ by Republican staff who refused to explain how their requests bore any relation to a legitimate investigative aim.”
Leading pro-life groups found it ironic that Pelosi and House Democrats would call for an end to the investigation on the anniversary of Kermti Gosnell’s conviction.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List told LifeNews that Americans need to remember today is the three-year anniversary of the conviction of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell.
“During Kermit Gosnell’s trial America’s eyes were forced open in horror at the barbarism of late-term abortion. Three years later, we remain one of only seven nations to allow abortion on-demand after five months – a point by which unborn children feel pain,” said Dannenfelser.
“If that were not bad enough, we now know abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood harvest and sell the body parts of aborted children – all while they fight common sense standards aimed at protecting the health and safety of women,” she continued.
“These revelations have fueled us. In Congress and in state legislatures across the country, women are taking the lead to advance Pain-Capable legislation, defund and investigate Planned Parenthood, and protect women’s health. Women also support our top legislative priority – stopping abortion after five months – in higher numbers than men. This surge of support among women, and the leadership of courageous women like Rep. Marsha Blackburn and Sen. Joni Ernst, stand in stark contrast to Hillary Clinton’s radical pro-abortion ideology. She recently admitted that ‘the unborn person does not have constitutional rights,’ and has vowed to end the Hyde amendment, effectively forcing taxpayers to fund abortion on-demand up until birth.
“The difference between Hillary Clinton’s unwavering dedication to the extreme demands of the pro-abortion lobby and Donald Trump’s pro-life policy commitments couldn’t be clearer. For the sake of the women injured and children killed by abortionists like Kermit Gosnell, and the babies whose bodies are dismembered and then sold like used car parts by Planned Parenthood, it is critical that we take back the White House in 2016.”
