Naghmeh Abedini attacked by Christians: not a good Mom, didn’t go to Bible school
Naghmeh Abedini, the wife of imprisoned Pastor Saeed Abedini, has been undergoing her own trials, enduring several personal attacks and recently shared how her faith has been strengthened.
“The last three years have been very intense not only because of Saeed’s imprisonment, but also because of the attacks that have come from not only radical Muslims, but at times from those closest to me. I have been told many things of which some have been that I am not a good mom for traveling so much .. that how could I possibly share about Christ when I have not even been to a Bible School,” Naghmeh said on her Facebook page.
She added that people have criticized her for what she wears, what she says, the way she parents, and other things.
“I use to break to pieces after each attack and criticism, but recently the Lord has been speaking to me through the life of Moses. That I should use the attacks to keep me humble,” she wrote.
Naghmeh said that when she faces criticism, she turns to Bible passages which help to encourage her and strengthen her faith.
She said that the passage in which Moses asked God to forgive those who cause strife has especially been speaking to her and showing her how to have a “heart of compassion” rather than a “heart of bitterness.”
Naghmeh is actively campaigning for her husband’s release. She has met with world leaders, including Congressmen, President Obama, and even Pope Francis to gain allies in her fight to get Saeed released. She has also undergone a three-week fast to raise awareness of Saeed’s unjust imprisonment.
