Missing woman Kelley Jo Snyder identified as body found, husband William Snyder arrested
An autopsy performed Sunday confirmed that a body recovered Saturday in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, was that of a Renovo woman missing since Easter Sunday, reported the coroner on Monday.
The woman’s husband was arrested Friday in Horseheads, New York and returned to Pennsylvania to face charges. He reportedly confessed to moving the body, but few details have been confirmed at this point.
A forensic pathologist determined that the body found Saturday in Noyes Township, Clinton County, was that of Kelley Jo Snyder, 34, of Renovo.
The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology reports, according to Pennsylvania state police at Lamar, who investigated Snyder’s disappearance.
Snyder’s husband, William Snyder, was taken into custody Friday by New York state police at a Knights Inn on Westinghouse Road in Horseheads.
Troopers from Lamar picked up Snyder and returned him to Clinton County, where he was charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Snyder claimed she was going to a Dollar General on Easter and wasn’t seen again, according to the couple’s 14-year-old son. The couple has two other children together.
He was arraigned in District Court and sent to the Clinton County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
