Missing Michigan man, Josh Tomson, found dead near relative’s home
A search party on Saturday discovered the body of the missing man they were looking for, according to a private investigator working with the man’s family.
The body has been positively identified as that of Josh Thomson, the source told 24 Hour News 8 on Sunday. The body was actually found by the people searching for Thomson near one of the victim’s relatives’ homes.
Allegan County sheriff’s investigators did not immediately release any information, but authorities claim the cause of death remained under investigation, and that it could be a few days before it was determined.
Police had classified Thomson, 22, as a “voluntary” missing person, last seen on December 30 leaving his grandmother’s home near the lake.
“On December 30th Josh Thomson disappeared from his grandmother’s house. No one has any idea where he is and his mom (Heather Thomson) is beside herself with worry. All donations will go directly to Heather to aid in the search for her son,” the family posted on their GoFundMe page, started for Thomson’s family stated that the family has begun raising money for his funeral.
“As many may know there was a search to locate Josh Thomson [Saturday]. Josh has been found and we are now in need of donations for the funeral,” the post stated. “We are asking friends and family to join us in a candle vigil at J.C park in allegan at 6:00 p.m.”
The page stated that Thomson went missing on Dec. 30 from his grandmother’s home in the area.
