Missing Georgia man, Charles Franks, found dead in Dalton creek
The body of a man found in a Dalton area creek has been confirmed that of a missing man out of Whitfield County.
Police in Dalton, Ga. said that two kids apparently found a body in Mill Creek late Saturday afternoon near Underwood Street and have now confirmed that the body is Charles Franks, 50, who was reported missing in Whitfield County.
Police spokesman Bruce Frazier detailed the case, confirmed that next of kin has been notified.
Frazier said two juveniles who were going fishing found the man’s body in Mill Creek near Underwood Street, between Rushmore and Bermuda Streets.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division found no evidence of foul play, but the body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy to determine cause of death, Frazier said.
Investigators are on the scene looking for more clues.
