Michael Moore’s ‘Fahrenheit 11/9’ void of insight as it grandstands Trump hatred
Michael Moore has proved he’s out of touch with his latest film, Fahrenheit 11/9.
This is NOT about left vs. right, but Moore attack on Trump and Republicans fails to offer anything more than a glorified YouTube video threaded together to build Straw man arguments based on “guilt by association.”
Moore’s approach is much like that of his work over a decade ago, when the Internet wasn’t so ripe with Trump hatred, the sharing of stories and incidents. With Fahrenheit 11/9, Moore makes fun of the media for getting the election wrong, but falls into the tired trap of just calling Trump supporters a bunch of angry white guys.
Then there is the segment on Flint.
Maybe during the 2000’s, this would have been insightful photojournalism, but here Moore is just echoing the rabble rousing on the left. He props up his publicity stunt, spraying “Flint contaminated water” on the home of Republican Gov. Rick Snyder, as though he’s thumbing his nose at ‘The Man.’ Remember to the Left, Snyder is to blame, not the legions of Democratic politicians controlling the region for years and outnumbering Snyder.
Fahrenheit 11/9 fails at pretty much everything.
It’s just a dull, propaganda piece to hate on Trump. Okay….we have CNN for that.
Who is Moore speaking to? The Left already hate the President, believe the GOP are racist, sexist, bigoted white men exploiting the patriarchial system of toxic masculinity. The film is a “call to arms” for the left to rile people up and remind them why it’s important to stand up against Trump and the GOP.
Moore is basically just cashing in on the Trump victory, digging deeper into the hypocritical cesspool of opportunists on the left. Trump hatred is already exhausting…we certainly didn’t need a boring documentary to go along with that.
At one point early in the film Moore asserts that Trump ran because of Gwen Stefani, looking for more cash from his TV deal. There is NO evidence of this. More disturbing is the flippant use of Nazism and the ambiguous call for Revolution. The audience can’t be certain what Moore is saying (elections don’t work, the Mueller probe won’t work), but this guy on fire….rise up.
Save your cash and wait for this to arrive on a streaming service…you will not have missed anything.
Fahrenheit 11/9 earns 1 1/2 stars out of 5 stars.
