Michael Fassbender says he loves Metal, talks Prometheus sequel
Michael Fassbender can wait to reunite with director Ridley Scott for the “Prometheus” sequel.
The “Shame” star plays an android named David in the “Alien” prequel and confirmed he’s to return for a second film. When questioned by Digital Spy on whether he would return for a second film, Michael confirmed: ”That’s what I’m hoping.”
“He’s just got a grasp of everything,” Fassbender explained. “You’ve got 300 people working on set, 3D, special effects, a lot of actors, an ensemble cast, and he just has a control of everything.
“[This is] Ridley Scott revisiting in some respects a baby of his,” he went on, “and having read the script, from the offset there was something very intelligent here.”
“It’s just his style,” Pearce pitched in. “He has an amazing visual ability, and a real fascination with psychology. He’s got a particular way of delving into humanity.”
The sequel would return Fassbender and Noomi Rapace and the “X-Men: First Class” was all praise for his fellow cast members.
”I felt very privileged to be part of the team and it also made me concern myself that I wasn’t a weak part of the team, that I did my homework as best I could and that I came to work and had something to offer.”
”I think for all of us on the job, all crew members, have a feeling that they’re working on something special when they’re working with Ridley.”
From “300” to “Inglorious Basterds” to his recent films, the Irish actor is a long way from his youth where he was more of a heavy metal music fan.
“When me and my friend Mike had a band I used to have hair down to my chest, ten-hole Dr. Martens [shoes] and combat shorts cut at the knee,” he told British newspaper The Sun.
“My favorites were Metallica, Sepultura and anything off Slayer’s Reign In Blood.”
Michael made it a point to memorise song lyrics by heart.
“I love the bit in Seasons In The Abyss by Slayer, and I worked hard to learn Megadeth’s Rust In Peace when I was younger,” he gushed
No information has been released about the “Prometheus” sequel. Fassbender returns for the “First Class” sequel, which begins shooting in January.
