Michael Fassbender goes ‘Medieval’ in first trailer for ‘Assassin’s Creed’
The first Assassin’s Creed trailer debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Michael Fassbender is subjected to some kind of experiment to get in touch with a past and tap into his adept ability at killing people.
Based on the popular video game franchise, the Prometheus star will spend most of the action in medieval Spain, and there are plenty of rooftop running and fight scenes to keep fans interested. Check out the new teaser below.
Directed by Justin Curzel, Assassin’s Creed also stars French actress Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Callum Turner, Brian Gleeson and Michael K. Williams.
As far as a synopsis goes: Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.
Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Assassin’s Creed is set to arrive in theaters on Dec. 21.
