Michael C Hall talks ‘Dexter’ season 8, confirms Deb leaves police department, talks Hannah and more
Michael C. Hall shared some thoughts on Dexter season 8 in regards to Debra Morgan, Hannah McKay and Dr. Evelyn Vogel’s involvement throughout the final season.
After the chaotic Dexter season 7 finale, Debra Morgan will be more important than ever before with the shooting of Maria LaGuerta clearly destroying her mental and emotional state, so Hall begins with their relationship in the TV Guide May 28 interview.
“Things are strange. Deb [Jennifer Carpenter] left the police department, and she’s not in a good place. Dexter feels a sense of responsibility for what happened and wants to make things right, but they’re not exactly connecting.”
Dexter’s love interest escaped custody and figures into the season 8 mix.
“I won’t give it away, but Hannah [Yvonne Strahovski] has a significant role this season. She’s dangerous and, admittedly, very attractive to Dexter.”
One of the more interesting news was that Charlotte Rampling plays a neuropsychiatrist who specializes in serial killers. Hall had to address if she “gets inside Dexter’s head.”
“In a big way. She has unique insights about who Dexter is. She’s spent her life studying him, and those insights might just point us to the end.”

Dexter returns for the final season June 30.
