MERS coronavirus cases top 100 globally

The global Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) outbreak has topped 100 cases this week as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) put the total count at 103 as of Friday.

The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health reported the following on their “Novel Coronavirus” website  Thursday–they announced registering two virus-injured incidences in Asir. The first case is for a citizen aging 31; he was suffering from several chronic diseases. Currently, he is being treated in the Intensive Care, and his condition is stable. As for the other case, it is for a citizen aging 55; he was in contact with a confirmed case. He did not show any symptoms.

In addition, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced a Coronavirus-caused death of a citizen aging 51 in Riyadh. He was suffering from cancer and chronic diseases.

The current Saudi Arabia total for MERS-CoV is 82 cases, with half of them (41) dying as a result of the infection.
